The weekend

Sorry there was no post last night, but we had the "Palm Bay contingent" of the "Florida Family" down for dinner and games :-) I thought it might be a little rude to abandon them for the blog, much as I know someone is bound to remind me that I didn't post.

Like I said, we had some of the gang over last night for Mexican food and games. I tried a few new creations for dinner, and fortunately no one grumbled too loudly. (hehe) The hit of the evening was the skillet cookie, though. Gooey cookie, baked in a skillet, covered in ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce - what could be better?

Today, Grant started the painting on the front room. I am officially leaving all of the painting decisions in his capable hands (though I'm not sure that he's OK with that) Right now, there's officially one coat on everything, with a second to be done tomorrow. I'm liking the color (it's called Wooden Swing) and am keeping my fingers crossed that once the tape comes down and we start to move the furniture in I still like it. If not, I don't think Grant's willing to do it all again, much as he loves me. I'm just kidding (mostly) I really do like the color and am anxious to see it all come together now.

While Grant painted Noah and I played this morning and then went to the park with Arthur and Kristina for awhile. We finally found a good park! And boy were there a mess of kids there! Noah got to swing and go on the slides and have an all around good time. Mom, we even did the spider swing :-)

After the park we checked out the new ice cream place (Bru-ster's) that just opened up. (Kristina's absolute favorite, btw) And wouldn't you know that they give free cones to little kids. So Noah got his first very own ice cream cone! (Complete with eyes and sprinkles that I had to eat) But he was so excited! And of course made a huge mess with it. The people from the ice cream place even came out with their camera and asked if they could take pictures of him since it was his first cone. And of course, my little photogenic cheeseball was only too happy to have his picture taken.

We are officially calling what he's doing now crawling. Not sure if it technically qualifies, but he has figured out how to use his hands and legs and actually does cross the room to get something. Not quickly, but he makes it. I think once he gets the hang of it a little better I'm in big trouble.

Alright, well I released Grant from his painting tasks for the evening to go hang out with the gang at the Hals', so it's only me, the kiddo and the doggy tonight. I have to go scrounge up some dinner and then wrestle the monster into the bathtub, so I better cut this off. Hope that everyone's having a fantastic weekend. Enjoy the pictures!

Bath time Thursday night

He was having so much fun splashing! (The hallway outside my bathroom was even wet)

He was so mad I made him take a nap he took off his socks and his pants!

But he was so tired!

Yummy salsa I made for Friday night

The gang playing "Life"

Whatever you do, don't spin it off the track and pay Arthur!

Trouble, with a capital T

Crawling along

Grant starting the painting process

This is what happens when Grant's in charge (and I love him for it!)

Look Mom, I can see my toes

Look at me, Mom!

Kristina, me and Noah

Aren't those the coolest adult swings, ever?

Me and my munchkin

Gotta love that kiddo

Noah and the Mama swinging

Still swinging

Oooh, a slide!

It's a long way down, Noah, are you sure you want to do this?

We even made some friends

But Mama, I want to go again!

Trying out another slide

Wood chips, it had to be wood chips

Noah sliding on his own!

Such a big kid!

Can I walk down the slide, Mom?

Mmmmm, ice cream...

And it's all mine!

Mom, hold it a little closer

The kiddo couldn't eat it fast enough
