The short version of the story is that J.T., a 12 year old boy from New York loves trains. It is one of his favorite past times to take the Arcade and Attica train. A few years ago he started saving recyclables for money to buy additional tickets for kids he knew that were unable to buy their own. He was upset to learn, though, that the train was not handicapped accessible. So he made it his goal to raise enough money to equip the train for those with handicaps.
The first time he was on, "Good Morning, America" surprised him by telling him they had called in the crew from "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" to do an extreme makeover on the train. He was so excited and this week they followed up and showed what they had done to the train. Here's a link to watch the video: http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=5891930&page=1
I was so moved by the dedication and goodwill of this little boy that i just had to share it. I will admit to shedding quite a few tears at the story. It just reminds me that even when things are rough and the world looks like a pretty scary place, there are those out that on a daily basis go above and beyond to make other people happy. God Bless J.T.!
From here today, we have to report that Noah officially rolled over from his back to his tummy completely! For the past few weeks he's been 3/4 of the way there (his belly was on the floor he just couldn't get his arm out of the way) but this morning I put him down on his back and the next time I looked up he was on his tummy! Yay Noah!! Otherwise we've spent the day playing with the kiddo, I've been working on Noah's ABC book (see below) and Grant's been finishing up some odds and ends. It's been a great Sunday and we're looking forward to what this next week will bring. Noah and I also wanted to send out lots of "happy thoughts" to Grandpa Larry and let him know we're thinking about him! Enjoy the pictures, more tomorrow!
The letters for Noah's ABC book I'm making (A is for ark, B is for Bella, C is for Cookie Monster...)
