3's and 7's

Wow, today has been a really weird and sad day. I'm sitting here watching CNN who just confirmed that Michael Jackson died today. My mind is totally blown...

There was an episode of Grey's Anatomy that talked about the theory that bad things (death) comes in 3's and 7's. I was never one to buy it, but this week would kind of seem to confirm the 3 theory. I was sad to hear the other day that Ed McMahon passed away. Quite a legend. And when I got home from the mall today, I was sad to see that Farrah Fawcett had passed away. She had seemed so courageous in sharing her cancer battle with so many. And then to hear that Michael died today too, just kind of overwhelming. I wasn't a huge fan or anything, and I definitely didn't agree with some of the choices he made, but there's no doubt that he had an enormous impact on American music for the past four decades. May they all rest in peace.

OK, enough doom and gloom...

I have to share with anyone reading my blog another blog that I stumbled across today. If you're in need of an interesting blog to follow, or just need a little inspiration, check out www.ryanrunseurope.blogspot.com Ryan's blog was on Blogger's "Blogs of Note" the other day, and I just happened to stumble across it today. Ryan is a recent college graduate who is actually running from Amsterdam to Greece this summer, according to his blog. What really moved me about him is the sense of humor he conveys his run with, as well as the complete kindness of absolute strangers he has met. There have been nights that he has no place to stay for the night, and people have invited them into their home. If you need to be reminded about how wonderful humanity really can be, check out Ryan's blog. Or if you need a smile. :)

Speaking of smiles, I took Noah to the mall today to catch up with Miesje and Coen. The boys got to play on the indoor playground and it sure seemed like they had a good time. I have to admit though, I will be so glad when Noah (and Baby G 2.0 eventually) is big enough that I don't have to follow behind him half a step the entire time he's playing. I don't think I'd be so over anxious if there weren't so many other "big kids" around. It was good to catch up for awhile, though, and I was glad the boys got to play together.

Alright, I'm going to wrap this up for the evening. My brain has mostly turned to complete mush today, anyway. Hopefully tomorrow will be less dramatic. And I'll see if Grant wants to post tonight, too. So maybe more later, but definitely more tomorrow :)
