Sorry for no post yesterday, I had to (or desperately wanted to) finish up the last of my major projects. Kristina's birthday is on Wednesday, and I have been promising myself that I would have her blanket done well before her birthday. Five days is well before, right? Anyway, I finally got it finished up last night and was so incredibly thrilled I called it an early night. After an extremely successful nephrologist appointment (it makes me so happy to have at least one doctor that listens to me, believes what I say and acts accordingly) I thought that maybe I would finally be able to kick this week's insomnia in the behind. No such luck... Even though I fell asleep around 10:30, I was wide awake by 2:30, and finally gave up trying to fall back asleep at 3:30 and went out on the couch to watch some TV. So as I sit here just before 7pm, after a full day, I'm hoping that maybe tonight I will actually sleep all night. Any suggestions to beat this insomnia, faithful readers?
It is a Harris off Friday here, so Noah was in a great mood when he got to make a trip to Dunkin Donuts this morning with Daddy for some munchkins. I think the kid would live off of donuts, hot dogs with ketchup and blueberries if I would let him. Then while I worked this morning, the boys played a few video games, then Grant mowed the lawn while Noah napped. You have to check out the pictures I've attached of Noah sleeping this morning. His feet sticking out the bars of his crib were just too cute to resist.
After I got off work, I met up with Kristina and Giselle for a girl's lunch. I am so grateful for Grant's schedule that allows me to escape for a few hours every other Friday afternoon. I know Grant enjoys the extra time with Noah and Noah is so Daddy's boy. After lunch, I headed off to the spa to finally spend my gift certificate from Christmas on a pre-natal massage. Since we've officially made it halfway, I figured it'd be a good treat. Plus, I'm hoping that maybe it'll help with the insomnia a bit. My massage was wonderful, and it got me wishing that I could have one every week for the rest of this pregnancy. Or maybe not ;-) I'll be thankful for the treat, though, and am looking forward to curling up with a book and a cup of tea after Noah goes to bed tonight. As a trade off I told Grant he could go watch the shuttle launch at Phil's place tonight and I would stay with Noah. Considering Noah goes to bed in an hour and a half, I think I got the better end of this deal ;-)
One last funny Noah story to share, then I'm cutting this off for the evening. We've been trying to show Noah how to somersault. And every time we "help" him with it, we get really excited, say "yay" and clap our hands. Well now he thinks he's figured it out all by himself. He bends over, puts his head on the ground, and flops onto his side. Though there is no forward momentum, he ends up in the same position as if he had actually done a somersault. The best part is, that every time he does it, he then stands up, says "yay" and claps for himself. I tell ya the kiddo never fails to keep me laughing.
Alright, looks like I'm in charge of bathtime tonight since Daddy's off for the night. I'm not sure who ends up getting the bath; me or Noah. I'll try to post tomorrow, but no promises as we'll be celebrating at Justin's for his housewarming party and not sure when we'll make it home. Since I've dug out the camera again, though, I can at least promise pictures when I do get around to posting. Until then; enjoy the pictures!
